Chronicles of a running hopeful...

I know pretty much everyone blogs these days, so I figured why not take a chance... I can't really take full credit for the idea to start this blog, but thanks to some great friends and their inspiration, I figured I'd give it a try. My hope is that writing this blog about my adventures in becoming a runner will help me actually enjoy becoming a runner :) My aim is to share my journey and hopefully become fantastically fit while learning to love what I know will be a great hobby for me!

I know its been a while...

Hello all! Its been too long, and so much has happened... but I'll try to stick to what's related to running :)

So I've run a little bit, but I'm not gunna lie-- this Georgia heat has been killing me! I go to the gym (some weeks more than others) but I'm not really a fan of running on a treadmill. You can see how this may create a dilemma when its so hot outside! Ugh... its pretty much awful! So the moral of my story is, running hasn't quite been at the top of my priority list over the past few weeks.

Now that I've admitted that, I feel the need to inform that I'm planning on running a 6K in 3 weeks. Crazy? Yes! The crazier part is that 2 weeks after that I'm going to run an 8K and then 2 more weeks later comes the 10K! Insane! I can't even believe that I somehow that it was a good idea, but I'm hoping that a few good races will help me get back into the swing of things.

My friend Jason (oh yeah, he's an Ironman- just FYI) keeps messing with me about not running enough... well I guess I'll show him ;)

So my friends, now that I'm in the new house with Helena and we're getting our internet hooked up this weekend, there will be no more excuses. I WILL be training for the coming races, and I WILL run them with as much heart as I possibly can. I can't promise any record-breaking times (actually I can pretty much promise the times may not be impressive to anyone...) but I can promise that I'll run the entire race and do all I can to make them fabulous!

Peace out for now!
